SummerJam

Seeing that it is now December & the summer is no longer relevant, I know it may throw you off to see this as my first post. Not to mention that you're now reading this post and it's 2016. However, I have tons of content that I've been eager to share prior to the launch of the blog.

My initial posts are going to be a bit all over the place when it comes to being in order chronologically. There are some things I must share! Slowly but surely the blog will be up-to-speed with my daily/weekly experiences. Bare with me!

I am thrilled to take you all on this journey of the life I have been blessed with. I am happy to present to you... The Man Behind The Art.

Since the Age of 15 I've always produced my biggest production of the year during the summer. 2k15 was no different.

The run down of my summer schedule is always PROMO SEASON!

Literally everything is connected to the current production and marketing it.

i.e. Attending fashion shows, networking events, parties, festivals... etc.

one word - GORILLA MARKETING.

Not to mention; 4 hour rehearsals, fittings, shooting, editing, show prep, etc.

This summer I was gearing up for my 16th production,  Marcellas' Angels: An Intimate Showcase (check out some of the vids under the "arsenal" tab"). This was my third production under the company and the 2nd live production.

Production takes up a lot of my time, however, It's important to me that I still live my life. In the midst of my busy production schedule, I enjoy going to concerts on my down time Technically I'm still working when attending them because I end up studying everything from the production, to the lighting, to the set design, to the costume design, choreo... THE LIST GOES ON!

I actually think I set a record this summer.

Don't ask me how but I saw Future 3x's... LIT

Within one week I ended up seeing Future, Nicki Minaj-Meek, & Miguel

MIGUEL is an amazing performer. I have so much respect for his artistry. Everything about his concert was right. It was incredibly life changing and inspirational. The staging and lighting was super dope.

To end the summer after an AMAZINGLY successful production I headed to...

MADE IN AMERICA:

Beyonce

Meek Mill

Santagold

Future (YET AGAIN!)

J.Cole

TheWeeknd

BigSean

Made In America is definitely a festival for the bucket list. Everyone should attend at least once.

Now... I should forewarn you that I've never seen that many people in my life. Regardless, I definitely had an amazing experience. Not to mention how inspiring it is to see the entire city shutdown under the hands of Jay-Z & Beyonce'. You take a moment and you become extremely proud. They're doing some great things and making history.

All in all, I had an extremely productive summer! Attending so many concerts however it's becoming a bit routine to me. I love them, don't get me wrong... However, it is definitely time for me to be working the concerts vs. attending them.

In due time...

Marcellas Hill
