Hollywood Dreams

I know it may all look "Glitz & Glam", but remember photos only capture one moment in time. Words can't even describe the day we/I had trying to execute my vision for our new visual for the launch of the site.

Let's start with the fact that we were originally suppose to shoot at the W Hotel in DC. There was a whole weekend planned around it. The plan was to shoot all day and then vibe out into the night. I purchased two suites for myself and the crew/Angels to retreat to after a long day of vigorous shooting.  This being our/my biggest shoot to date, I felt like it was necessary for everyone and everything to be in one place. Having the luxury of two suites would allow us to shoot through out the venue with as little as possible (wardrobe, equipment, etc.). The W was literally the epitome of what I needed visually/aesthetically to execute my vision.

Fast forward to the week of the shoot....

I contacted the venue to make sure everything was ready logistically. I had a nudge to go into detail about the shoot. Two transfers later, I found myself on the phone with a representative stating that there would be an extra 3k charge for "professional shooting."

Flabbergasted, everything immediately stopped. 3k is feasible when you plan for it but not when you find about it 4 days before a shoot you're already spending 2k plus for.

I went into shutdown mode... To shoot or not to shoot?

My original concept was now completely out of the window. Within 24 hours; I had about 10 meltdowns and cancelled the shoot at least four times. Finding out on a Tuesday, only gave me 24 hours to reason due to proper production prep. Under these circumstances, everything had to be clear and concise. It was either happening or it wasn't..

Hair was really important for the looks chosen, so we had to start prep Wednesday.

As you can see the show went on...

I won't go into details just to spare myself from typing but to give you an idea of how the day went..

-Security... security... oh & more security

-Cops.. yeah you read that right... COPS
